Rail

The Rail Competence Centre (RCC) is FCT’s ‘one-stop-shop’ for the rail industry.
RCC is a certified Training Quality Standard (TQS) provider with specialism for rail; this replaced our Centre of Vocational Excellence (CoVE) status and recognises that we have met the government’s standard for excellence in this vocational area. This brings direct government support, through the Learning and Skills Council, to expand our provision across the sector.
RCC is the only provider in the country with the TQS specialism in rail. Click here to see our achievement
RCC’s central aim is to roll out the very successful model of competence assurance and NVQ accreditation that has already been implemented for London Underground to other railway companies across the country.
RCC has excellent links with key organisations such as the Learning and Skills Council, the Regional Development Agency, Go Skills, Sector Skills Councils, City & Guilds and other standards-setting and awarding bodies. This is in order to influence funding allocations and requirements along with the development and awarding of qualifications for the rail industry.
We have been extremely successful in obtaining government funding to support employers in delivering training and NVQ award to their workforce.
