Management qualifications
Every manager is different, but all need core managerial skills and knowledge.
We can help you prove your competence against the MSC Management and Leadership national occupational standards which reflect best practice in Management.
Our Management NVQ Centre is approved by the Chartered Management Institute. We offer individual programmes for the development of managers in the workplace and contract with companies rather than private individuals so that we can address the interests of both. We cater for experienced managers who need to accredit their competence in the job and new and inexperienced managers who need training and development to enhance their performance in the job.
We offer the following:
- Management NVQ assessment programmes at NVQ Levels 3, 4 and 5 to accredit experienced managers.
- Management Development programmes with NVQ accreditation.
- Taught management qualifications such as The Introductory Certificate in Management.
We deliver training to groups or individuals as appropriate. Our NVQ assessment programmes are always one-to-one so that they fit each candidate’s needs and work arrangements.
Management NVQ Assessment Programmes
These NVQ programmes are designed for working managers and complement company training and development provision. We use evidence from the manager’s day-to-day activities and their knowledge to assess competence.
Management Development Programmes
We provide development on the basis of a specific agreement with the client company and may include elements that go beyond the Management and Leadership standards, such as self-development, CPD, assessor training or mentor qualifications.
The Introductory Certificate in Management is a taught programme which includes workshops on developing yourself, customer focus, planning and monitoring, working with others and managing quality, continuous improvement and change.
Entry Requirements
All candidates must be managers working in management positions suitable to the intended qualification level:
- Supervisory positions for Level 3.
- Wider operational or middle management positions for Level 4.
- Director-level operational or strategic positions for Level 5.
Leadership and Management for Care Services Award
This Level 4 NVQ is a specialist management qualification for all registered managers of care homes for adults, and is a requirement of the Commission for Social Care Inspection (CSCI). We have specialist assessors within our team who have a background in social care and will support you through the qualification. Click here for our Health and Social Care qualifications
Programme Structure and Content
This is very similar for all candidates, except that the provision for new managers will also include any training sessions agreed with the client company.
A number of half days are allocated to the FCT assessor to provide all-through support and assessment of the candidate’s evidence.
A typical use of this time is:
- First half day induction, qualification overview and assessment planning.
- Remaining half days for assessment planning and assessment.
The Level 5 programme also includes coaching in a Management topic which the candidate considers most desirable for his/her professional development.
Certification
FCT is an approved NVQ Assessment Centre of the Chartered Management Institute. Following successful completion of the required number of MSC units, candidates receive an NVQ certificate from the Chartered Management Institute. We can also offer CMI certification for individual units to candidates who do not wish to complete the whole programme.
