Research

We are currently engaged in supporting a large employer in the development of a ‘skills for life’ strategy. This involves benchmarking against current activities of similar large organisations, conducting analysis of literacy levels amongst employees, analysis of readability of company documents and developing recommendations to address the gap between the literacy requirements of the employer and the skills of the employees.

This gives employers an accurate assessment of ‘skills for life’ needs within their organisation, enabling the organisation to implement an appropriate development programme which in turn helps the organisation to meet the requirements of the Government’s skills agenda.
The business benefits of introducing skills for life programmes are proven to include:

  • Reduction in costs.
  • Greater productivity.
  • Increase in staff retention.
  • Fewer accidents at work.
  • Improved customer service.
  • Improved compliance with quality procedures.
  • Reduced waste of resources.

This type of research can be offered to organisations in any sector.
