Competence assurance


RCC works with companies to help qualify and competence assure their workforce through a ‘one-stop-shop’ service. We offer competence assurance systems and development for the rail industry to help companies meet the requirements of their regulatory bodies.

Developing and Maintaining Staff Competence

 

 

1. Design of Assessment Systems

Services in this area include the design of:

  • Assessment materials (i.e. assessment checklist).
  • Associated quality assurance systems (i.e. internal verification, audit etc.).
  • Associated procedures (i.e. work instructions, quality manuals etc.).
  • Evidence storage and retrieval systems.
  • Reference of evidence to NVQ standards (where required or appropriate).
  • Mapping company procedures to our system.

2. Training Learning & Development Professionals

Services in this area include training and accreditation of:

  • Workplace mentors
  • Coaches
  • Trainers
  • Assessors
  • Internal verifiers

RCC is fully approved by City & Guilds to award qualifications from the Learning and Development series such as A1 and A2 Assessor awards and V1 Internal Verifier award. In addition RCC offers the full range of “L” units for staff working in training and development and including full NVQ Levels 3 and 4 for learning and development professionals.

3. Accreditation of Candidates

RCC is also able to award City & Guilds NVQ awards in:

  • Rail transport operations - including train driving, signalling, shunting, control room operations and passenger operations.
  • Rail transport engineering - for signalling and communications systems, track and civils, rolling stock and electrification and plant assets.
  • General engineering - for assets not covered by the rail transport engineering series above.
  • Customer service.

In addition, RCC is fully approved by the Chartered Management Institute to award full Management NVQ qualifications from Levels 3 to 5
